A lot of things go through your mind when the interview day arrives. If you are not careful, you may forget some things. Here are some things you need to do before you step into the interview room. You can even do them beforehand.

  • Read the job description or vacancy announcement. This is to refresh your memory.
  • Read your CV again to be sure how you crafted it,
  • Carry your academic and professional certificates just in case they may be requested.
  • Carry your identity documents just in case it may be requested in the interview or as part of security protocols to enter premises.
  • Be dressed like a professional and avoid being shabby. Your interviewers will make an impression based on your dressing on the interview day.
  • Print copies of your CV just in case they may be required again. Some recruiters may attend interviews without your CV, especially smaller companies, and it is common for them to ask you again for your CV. Alternatively, you can go through it whilst waiting for your turn to be called into the interview room.
  • Practice interview questions relevant to the job.
  • Go through the website of the company that is interviewing you and get information related to its operations. Candidates who show keen interest in an organisation they are applying for, have an edge of those who do not have a clue about their prospective employer.
  • Do other relevant tasks that will prepare you well for the interview.
